Simple Homesteading on a Budget
A Day in Our Kitchen - Yogurt, Cheese, Ice Cream, and More!!
A day in our kitchen making all things dairy! We started making many of our dairy recipes long before having a family milk cow and love the way it lets us be in control of the ingredients and processes. Plus, it's just really fun to create this way in the kitchen! We hope you are inspired to start making some of your own dairy recipes at home! Thanks to Soligt for sponsoring this video.

Nice work
😮 it's so amazing and beautiful. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We have 5 acres anf our nearest neighbors have 10. Our neighbors' property forms an L shape around ours. They don't even use the section behind ours, and it is very overgrown and neglected. The husband wanted us to let our animals graze that section to help with the overgrowth lol. I think 5 acres is definitely more manageable based on this experience.
Sorry if this is a silly question, but do u use a normal pressure cooker for canning? Or special equipment?
> 1/4 acre! quit shitting my pants. its at least 1.5 acres land u have, judging by video.
Great video. Very informative and helpful. Do you ever grow strawberries or other berries? I grow strawberries and blackberries and we make jam, desserts, eat them right from the garden, freeze them, etc. Your area is very nice and organized. I really like how y'all designed your gardens.
Hi, thank you for sharing this recipe, can you put on the quantities of the ingredients
and the most awesome is the memories with those child is amazing less ipad phone is amazing
Mornings are definitely the hardest to me. Thank you for a great video. Loving your channel I go back sometimes and watch some 'old' films. Thank you so much 😊
Do these filters go on sale, like for Black Friday or anything, as far as anyone knows? Wondering if I should buy a few now or wait for a bit and see about potential sales…
They do go on sale occasionally! If you sign up for their emails, they’ll tell you when a sale is happening.
Thanks for posting this! I get so nervous because all the books tell you to make youre using an approved recipe to can. But as long as you are pressure canning and dont add any forbidden items, it should be ok, right? I would really like to can my own recipes!
Not stirring in full circles was driving me completely crazy lol great video though 😅
Really nice from Sri Lanka
How many tanks do you dump out when they’re new?
Where can we find the amounts?
I can't wait to try this
NOW I WANT ICE CREAM!
May I ask what apps you use for making your UA-cam videos? Love your account ❤️
I cook one meal a day! The other two ! Figure it out yourself
Difficult to do with little kids and two adults doing physically hard work, though. You can't really tell littles to "figure it out" and her hubby is out working on the homestead.
@@Lucinda_Jackson that’s why I say don’t have kids!!!! They mess up your life ! Destroy it is more truth
@@Lucinda_JacksonExactly! 💯
I think I feel the same way. People spend way too much not cooking. Dinner for some costs $35 to $70 a night and I spend $4. I think about how much time I spend in the yard and I just love the fresh foods. Eating what's in season is what I like. And then storing it for the winter. We know it doesn't cost that much at the store but then you don't buy as much as you can grow. It's just not the same. Some people only go out to restaurants 3 times a day and I just cook every single day. Dishes is just part of the job
If she isnt an Olivia...you xould call the little chick Oliver. 😊❤😊
Get one of those hand lever French fry presses. I've used mine like once for frenchy fries, I use mine for soups and stews I put the veggies through it and then chop them up into cubes. I have small hands and the large butcher knives have actually caused blisters on my little hands, and for me cutting down the actual cutting helps, plus it's nice for bulk.

That is more than a quarter acre. BUT great job!!!
Wowwww I’m so envious of your set up. Great job 💪🏼
The muffin recipe makes an amazing waffle recipe as well!! I added tsp on cinnamon and plant protein powder for the waffles and my kids ate it up! Thanks for sharing your smarts 💡
I use USA Pans for all baking (they are silicone lined). A lot of homesteaders I follow also use them. They are wonderful because you don’t need to add any oil, butter, or flour to anything you are making because they are non stick (with the built in silicone lining) and they clean beautifully. I have researched silicone quite extensively and everything I find says if you keep the heat under 400 degrees it is safe. I am accepting this because as I”m sure everyone on this type of channel knows, you can go down SO MANY rabbit holes today trying to find what is safe and best because of how much damage they have done with the food supply, materials used when cooking, etc. And I won’t even start on pharmaceuticals and jabs:-(. Love your channel!
Ha... I have the same ice cream maker, even older, and I got it with AirMiles. Simple machine that does the job.
I will have to try your crockpot method for yogurt. I’ve been doing stovetop. Dinner always looks soo delicious! And you make cheesemaking look easy. Thank you for the tips! Continuing to pray for you. ❤️🙏🏻Val C
I love this! I live on .69 of an acre and have a dozen chickens. I really should try to build a chicken tractor. I just have them free range in the morning when I'm enjoying my tea and murder mysteries book in the morning.
Lucky family, both husband and wife sharing the same passion, usually couples diverge with each complaining about what the other is doing or even worse working against it 😅
Where can I purchase the olive oil you use?
The real annoying thing about chard is how well it grows in just about every climate and soils, it's pretty much the perfect crop... if it tasted good.
Hi, i love using banana leaves since I live in the Philippines.
Awesome! 👍👍👍
I wonder where you buy that removable net fence XD
just subscribed due to your description of your realization - it maps exactly to the mistake I was just about to make: "buy a new house, have a big garden" - WRONG lol 😆thanks for the deep insight, I love the tractor purchase - excellent move - you can move dirt too - I was thinking of getting a high end riding mower that could double on some small tractor tasks but having that front end load means you can create swales, and a hundred other things.. many thanks and may you have a fantastic crop this year, thanks for sharing ❤
Fantastic, thank you for sharing
*These Shitbirds won't even let you skip over commercials anymore...Boycott all UA-cam Advertisers and Content Providers that use them* 👎👎😠😠 *BTW...You can buy a 2 lb. brick of sharp cheddar at Safeway for about $6.00, any day of the week. And you won't have to worry about Listeria, Botulism, Salmonella, or any other cow poop contamination as well as Mad Cow Disease, from using raw milk*
Hi, i am from india. Please made one vide for drip iregatation system
Would it be possible to get a link to your friends Olive oil?
Can you age this on the countertop in a dry heat climate?
We are gluten free so i love getting Tinkyada brand noodles from Azure plus their coconut oil and cheddar
We do love those oats. Have you ever done your own rolled oats? I wish i could find organic rice at mine!
I usually go over budget at Costco because i want to buy our regular items but if any of our regular items are on sale then i buy a bunch. How do you handle that in your budget? I often don't know what of our staple items will be on sale when we do visit
New subscriber. Looking forward to your channel and journey. God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻 ❤️ ☦️ 💙
I am blessed to have Azure Standard out my back door. We go to their market in Dufur Oregon weekly and buy various things, it's the only health food store around for miles. We love their dried fruit, pineapple, pears, we love their Organic pecans too. All of it is a treat for us. One thing we have discovered is that you can pop Sorghum like popcorn and they sell it already popped or you can buy the grains and pop them yourself. I am a popcorn lover so anything like it is a yummy snack for me. I buy their wheat berries and their flour too and have been experimenting with sourdough bread and yeast bread recipes. They have a UA-cam video on wheat and how it's grown and the different types. This week they will have ordered "Dehydrated milk kefir grains" I am excited to try them with our raw milk we purchase locally. I have been making raw buttermilk from a starter that I bought online, but I bet Azure would have that too. Love your videos, thank you for the inspiration to make things from scratch, with nutritious ingredients ♥️
Would you be able to give your friends Olive Orchard in Greece to purchase their olive oil? Is that possible?🙏🏼❤️
Can you smoke dried kale? 🥬🤔
I would love a video on how you harvest and utilize your popcorn. I have yet to successfully pop mine
